In the interest of more safely handling the rising traffic numbers at the Highway 69 and 169 intersection, a roundabout configuration could one day replace the current traffic signal.

Studies have been underway for several years on how to handle the growing traffic needs at the Dewey-area intersection.

During this past week’s Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization (CYMPO) meeting, the funding for the estimated $4.4 million cost of the roundabout came up during a discussion of regional transportation priorities.
